I met Mary Gunther née Sierawski over a decade ago when we played together on a local softball team for the Grand Rapids Young Professionals. We immediately connected over our love of networking, higher education, and building our careers in West Michigan. Mary has been a personal friend and a professional resource over the past many years. We have both shared professional experiences such as participating in one of the first Lean In circles in the area, actively engaging with the Grand Rapids Young Professionals group through networking, sports, and volunteer events, and most recently joining the Economics Club of Grand Rapids to further our shared interest in education and professional networking with other professionals and academics.

As a friend, I was there to see Mary meet and marry her life partner, and then bring her two amazing children into the world. While she is a business owner, friend, and wife, she is most importantly a dedicated mom to her wonderful kids. Her interest in ensuring they receive the top quality education that Grandville is known for (one of the top reasons I purchased my home in Grandville) and raising them to be productive young adults who can flourish in a safe and supportive environment at home and at school is her highest priority.
